Kitchen Style
Are you thinking classic kitchen style, white or cream colored cabinets with black hardware and simple cabinet and molding details? Or, maybe a farmhouse style kitchen with open shelving, big farmhouse sink, and large table in the middle for the whole family. There are many different styles to chose from.
Kitchen Appliances
Seems pretty straight forward, but there are so many different options available in appliances that its worth spending some time to see what options are available. Depending on your kitchen style and design there are standard appliances and there are compact appliances that work well in a tight layout.
Kitchen Storage
Pots, pans, lids, utensils, spices, canned goods, and cleaners are just some of the things we all have in our kitchens. Putting a plan together for storing these items before ordering cabinetry will defiantly be of great value. Most cabinet companies have pull out metal or wood shelves and caddies to store you kitchen items and makes accessing them some much easier. Be sure to check out drawer storage options as well for all your utensils and other kitchen gadgets.
Kitchen Cabinetry
There are so many options to consider when looking at cabinetry. What style of door and drawer fronts? What finish? Painted or stained? Light or Dark? Maybe some accent cabinets with a different color to really make a statement? What type of wood species? Take your time and research what fits your style, cabinetry can be expensive and you’ll want to make sure you decide on something that you can enjoy for years to come.
Kitchen Flooring
Flooring options are almost as endless as cabinetry options. Luxury vinyl plank flooring seems to be popular option right now since it has a great look and holds up well in wet areas like a kitchen. Obviously, tile is another great option for the kitchen and there a so many designs and styles available as well.
Kitchen Countertops
Granite, Quartz, Solid Surface Material, and Laminate counter tops all have the ability to make your kitchen counters look amazing. Granite is a stone material that can give your kitchen a high end look. Granite does have some maintenance requirements when it comes to sealing, but the natural stone look and durability make for a great counter. Granite is a natural stone so it is porous and if the sealant isn’t properly maintained, staining and bacteria growth could be come an issue.
Quartz is sometimes called an engineered stone. It’s mostly made of resins with pieces of quartz and colorant to produce it’s appearance. There are more color options available in Quartz, and it’s a non-porous material that resists stains and bacteria. Like granite it can give you a high-end look to your kitchen without the maintenance, comes down to your preference in the material finish and willingness to maintain.
Solid Surface Material counters are also a good option for countertops. They have a seamless look with the ability to sand or buff out any scratches that may occur.
Laminate counters would be a great price point option. Some of the new designs and patterns look like granite or quartz and are easier on the wallet.

Kitchen Hardware
Again, options are almost endless when it comes to hardware as well. I would recommend looking at a wide variety to see what style and finish fit with you kitchen theme. Once the holes are drilled in your cabinets, your options to change them out and fit the same hole pattern become limited.
